Disconnections & Line Stats.

We are using a ZyXEL Prestige 660HW-T1 v3 Wireless-G ADSL Modem Router and if we set the router to multi-mode (under adsl type) it connects to adsl 2+ and sometimes adsl 2. This gives us a sync of between 5-7mbps and when we check the line stats under download attenuation it says 0db. Keeping it like this we get 3 or 4 disconnections a day. Sometimes the router would stay synced but the internet light would go off and the router would require a reboot.
We have now forced the router to connect to adsl 1 and we have now stayed synced for 18 hours, the longest so for. Synced at just under 6mbps and here are the line stats:
Attenuation - 63db down / 26db up
SNR - 12db down / 22db up
Are these stats about right for a line of 2.4km from the exchange (according to samknows.com). Why when connecting to adsl2+ makes my router show a attenuation of 0db.
I would try to plug the router into the master socket, but for some strange reason the master socket is right by the front door and theres no power sockets anywhere near it. At the moment we have 1 adsl splitter plugged into the master socket, off that we have 1 phone on the wall above. Connected to the adsl socket in the splitter we have a 10metre adsl cable (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001NXPQHK/ref=oss_product) running to the router.

I think the router reporting an attenuation of 0dB under ADSL2+ is OK. It just means the value is larger than 63dB and the router is unable to record and display it. It is normal for attenuations to be 2-3dB higher on ADSL2+ because the value is worked out differently.
As far as sync speed is concerned your values are unbelievable for that attenuation, 2Mbps would be good, and you have a raised SNR margin too (which reduces sync speed).
If you put your phone number and post code into Kitz's checker here what speed estimates and distance from the exchange by road does that give? Distance by road is often a good indication of line length.

Can you post the full line stats with the router in G.DMT mode (ADSL) ......... KITZ link for stats.

when you say you have an adsl splitter in the master socket, is it just a splitter (which are available) or is it a filter, thats what it should be
