Disconnection and drop in speeds

Hi,
After more than 12 months of fault free service since I joined, I noticed today that my downstream speed has dropped by more than 10mb and my upstream by approx 5mb.
Can you please look into this for me?
Regards,
Oli
EDIT: My upload speed is back after a modem restart but my download speed still remains dropped.
The online profile shows my dl speed as 69.x whereas before it was 77.x

Re: Disconnection and drop in speeds

Hi olisun,
I'm sorry to hear that your speeds have dropped ever so slightly. I've taken a look at your line (stats attached to this post) and can see that your line has errored quite a lot which has forced the connection drop a couple of times.

You can see that I've highlighted the number of 'Retrains' which shows the connection as had to restart due to excessive errors on the line. I would give the line around 9-10 days for DLM to pick things back up, assuming that your line remains error free.

Hi,
Can you please tell me on what date / time did the errors occur?

Re: Disconnection and drop in speeds

At present we don't have that level of information I'm afraid. It's something we're working with our suppliers to provide us with to help us in future. I would suspect that the errors are at the times of the drops on the RADIUS graph though.

Re: Disconnection and drop in speeds

Hi,
I have been having some disconnections in the past and I have nailed it down to either a faulty modem psu or the power socket on the wall.
The power socket is located behind the sofa and with the slightest movement it caused the modem to switch off. This caused the speeds to drop by 10mb and it used to usually recover within a week.
But this time the speed has not recovered and yesterday there were 2 disconnections even when there were nobody in the house. And this has caused the speeds to drop even further.
Can you please reset my profile?
Regards,
Oli

Re: Disconnection and drop in speeds

To be honest - you need to sort out the underlying problem
More specifically with as you on fibre the only way to have a reset is with an engineer visit which is most unlikely to be agreed
Topic merged with your earlier thread for continuity

Re: Disconnection and drop in speeds

So are you saying that I am now stuck with the lower speed?

The only thing you can do is raise a fault here https://faults.plus.net

Re: Disconnection and drop in speeds

I have fixed the offending wall socket but I noticed that my speed has dropped ever further down to 45.8 Mb i.e a total of 30mb+ drop
If my speed doesn't get resolved I am off to VM atleast with their throttling the speeds are still faster than BT.
