Disconnection Alert

Just got this from the PN update email - from 11pm you might find your internet is dead until 7am:

Subject: Emergency Maintenance - Faraday - 2nd/3rd April 11.00pm-7.00am
When's this work happening?
From 11pm tonight through to 7am tomorrow.
What does it affect?
Broadband connectivity.
How long will it take?
Up to seven hours.
What does the work involve?
Our suppliers have informed us of some emergency maintenance work to resolve the recent issues seen on the Faraday section of the network.
Am I likely to notice the work?
Yes, it's likely that a substantial portion of our customer base will be disconnected from the Internet during this maintenance. Should this happed our network will also be unbalanced and therefore you could see slower than normal speeds.
Is there anything else I need to know?
Any customers having problems connecting once the maintenance is complete are advised to log into their router interface and force a reconnect.
Kind Regards,
Chris Parr

Broadband (xDSL)
The following new Broadband (xDSL) incident has been identified. Further information is detailed below.
WBMC Emergency Maintenance(New)
Outage - Emergency maintenance
Start: Mon, 02/04/2012 23:00
End: Tue, 03/04/2012 07:00
BT have informed us of emergency maintenance tonight on the WBMC Faraday node to fully resolve the issues which have occurred over the last few weeks.
To help minimise disruption to our customers Zen engineers will be moving all WBMC users connected to this node to our spare capacity in Stepney Green. Some users may notice a brief outage while their PPP session re-establishes.
After the BT maintenance work is complete Zen engineers will be carrying out load balancing to move users back to Faraday. Some users may notice a brief outage while their PPP session re-establishes.
Zen regret any inconvenience this may cause.

That's because I didn't notice it as the font was very faint and I have moved this to Broadband for better visibility

Looking at http://www.plus.net/support/service/network_performance/broadband_bandwidth_usage.shtml#customerNumb... it doesn't appear it's gone down yet. If and when it does there will be a sharp drop.

Re: Disconnection Alert

The post was a precaution, we didn't have the same notification that Zen appeared to receive but made the decision to post due to recent issues on Faraday. It's worth noting that there is work happening on Faraday on the 5th April.
