I must say that it came as a bit of a surprise to be charged an extra £2.25 for a 'Data Transfer Upgrade Charge'. I had seen no mention of this when upgrading for an extra 3GB/mth.
1 Account Billing (2007-12-16 to 2008-01-15) ----------- £9.99
1 4GB Included Data Transfer Charge From 16/12/2007 -- £2.25
1 Include Data Transfer Upgrade Charge On 16/12/2007 - £2.25
Invoice Total £14.49
A search revealed an archived thread here, with the following statement by Mand saying, "I'll look to get this clarified on the upgrade page, as I can see that it might cause some confusion."
I still think it needs to be clarified, because I didn't see any mention of how there would be a double whammy. I suppose I should really be grateful, as I changed it twice...

It's charged twice deliberately - once for the month in which you request the upgrade (you've already been billed for that month so we have to add it on to the next billing date) and once for the month following.
Hope that clears things up,

Is not the OP billing date 2007-12-15 (on the bases that next month is 2007-12-16 to 2008-01-15) and the extra bandwdth was added on the 16/12/2007 which is the first day on the new billing month. So how can this be added onto the previous month?

No actually, the extra bandwidth was added nearly a month ago, and is showing as a 'Data Transfer Upgrade Charge', which is where the confusion arises from. A simple explanation during the upgrade process, stating that the advance payment for the present month's extra prepaid bandwidth will be added to the following month's invoice, is all that is needed. Something which Mand's quote in the 1st post alluded to.
