Dailymotion not working on plusnet

Yes but that link is 5 months old, there are a few problems out there but everyone has them. I have seen posts as early as 2008,
I have noticed this this problem now for about 2 weeks ago on plusnet.
It's seems its a problem with plusnet customers. Now whether its might be a dailymotion server problem is not the issue since other ISPs seem to connect with them (recently) without a problem.
Why should I check which gateway or download monitoring software, I don't work for plusnet and do not get paid to fault-find their network.
It's a 2 week old problem, it should have been sorted out by now regardless of which server, gateway etc is not sorking properly.
A shoulder shrug from an ISP is not the answer

Nice find there between1and16cha. Not that I'd had a problem with it running when I'd tried it before, but with the cache cleared it ran smoother and no sound sync problems.
Sound sync is an issue I do have with a lot of other video streaming stuff except iPlayer. I find ITVplayer is useless, anyone got any ideas? PS. those wireshark with the correct prioritisation.
I wouldn't say that there was a "shrug shoulder" response from PN, they suggested Wiresharking, have you done that booji?

No I haven't, and why should I. I should get a sevice that  works without having to reley on 3rd party software. I realise you are only trying to help but the issue here is that since moving to plusnet i no longer use the internet as much due to connection issues. The sooner my 18 months is up the better as far as I am concerned.
If you want to be an unpaid worker for plus net then I applaud you. Seems that without posters on here being helpfull then the service would be worse than it is now.

You may not think that PN's response to download wireshark is offloading their problems on to the users but I do.

If you want the best support at the price you pay, it pays to "help yourself". The support on these forums is, AFAIK, unequalled elsewhere.
It's a place where other Forum members help each other and is well supported by Plusnet staff even though it's not an official support channel.
Wireshark is a quick easy means of checking your traffic is being correctly prioritised, in case for some reason you've picked up a default Traffic Management profile. Just do a Gateway hop, that should resolve that if it were the case, but Wireshark would check for certain.
I'm sure Plusnet would get round to looking at your issue if they regard it as a fault having investigated why some of their staff had issues and found it wasn't just cache problems etc. In that case you'd better Raise a fault
Otherwise, if you don't even want to help yourself, go to a provider like TalkTalk where you may pay the same or cheaper, but I doubt such an issue would even get a response never mind investigated. Good Luck.

I came from talktalk to plusnet.
Customer responce was poor but the service given  was better.
And yes, unless PN gets better I will be going back to them. Better the devil you know.
Talk talk phone support was poor however their  "Talk talk members forums" was actually quite good and was just as good, if not better, then the support forums here.
I'll hand it to plusnet that there phone support is excellent but it's a pity things go wrong in the first place otherwise I wouldn't have to contact them.
In the past I had connection issues with Talktalk and with Plusnet. Talktalk took longer to speak to a "proper person" than PN but despite the differnce in service the end result was them same. Like it or lump it.

I know you are a frequent poster on here but I do not need telling off from somebody who thinks Plusnet is the best thing since sliced bread. As I have siad before you are not the authority on this forum and just telling me to go to a different ISP just because I have a different opinion is not called for.
For the net savvy I'm sure using 3rtd party software will help. That was not my point. Plusnet should be sorting this out not it's users. Being heplfull is one thing. Relying on it's customers is annother.

I've got better things to do with my time. In fact I should be diong DIY right now!

I have no wish to check out TalkTalk's forums thanks, I've had experience of TalkTalk and they are a nightmare as a lot of others have posted on these boards will testify.
Plusnet do not rely on it's customers, help from it's customer makes things better for all of us and gets problems resolved quicker.
As you have better things to do, go and do them. You have done nothing but moan since your first post on this forum, this forum isn't just here for moaners. If you have a fault, as I've already said Raise a Fault.
With your attitude, I would count on too much help on here from other forum members.

It is not a moan, its a valid complaint.

I do not see why a should be lectured by you anyway. Most poeple on here seem decent enough folk. But like most forums there seems to be an inner core who seem to think they run the place. TBH I don't want help from your little club anyway, just poeple who are genuine and do not savour adulation.

I didn't have any problems trying one or two videos today. Looking at wireshark, the video data appears to be server over HTTP, from a host such as proxy-63.dailymotion.com:

Not a particularly insightful traceroute, the route is plusnet to unknown (or just direct) to dailymotion.
Sometimes the video didn't load on the day this thread was started, but that wasn't happening today.

Cheers for the info Els,
I noticed problems about a week ago. For me nothing seems to work and although a few videos play, most stutter, go back to the begining half way though or just pack up. The web pages too seem slow to load. I'll see how things are when I try BT internet  a a friends later this week.

Finally to Anotherone - I think it best if we just ignore eachother from now on and do no reply to any of our posts directly. I have only started 2 threads on this forum and both times we have seemed to get into a tangle. The first thread we seemed to get over it but don't want to start a flaming session each time I post something.
So If ok with you we'll make peace for now and just leave eachother alone.  Agree? (you can reply  ;))

Interesting that between1and16cha's tracert & ejs's has proxy-63 on the front. Where did that come from or have I missed something? I didn't see it at all when the original video link was loading or playing

I also noted that in my first tracert in reply #39 - hop 7 didn't resolve.

I saw proxy-63.dailymotion.com in wireshark. I did see "Transferring data from proxy-61.dailymotion.com..." in seamonkey's status bar just now. They are where some of the videos come from, rather than the web pages. Different videos might come from different places, e.g. music videos from vevo.
