Daft staff user names.

It seems PlusNet staff have now adopted daft user names. Hardly the sign of a professional outfit is it?

Re: Daft staff user names.

It's intended as a bit of fun to celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate day, we are still answering queries and helping out in the same way as normal.

Lighten up, it's all a bit of fun Tongue
I much prefer a company that can be serious when needed, but still have a bit of a laugh when the oppertunity arises.
Arrrr.

Re: has plusnet been cracked again??

Well that explains it ye old sea dogs,
Maybe plusnet should start a counter to see how many calls it will get from worried users, would be interesting.
Thanks for clearing that up for me, now I'm off to keel haul someone (wonder how this will go down on my amateur radio gear?, better not har har)

Whats your call pebbles? My dad is an amateur radio aficionado (although I think he's just sold it all!)

Sorry I had not heard of this Talk Like a Pirate Day.  Trouble is there are so many of these "special days" you tend to switch off after a while.

Landlubber James!
Maybe we do need a ham forum... If we can get a few people together, specialist sub-forums would be a definate possibility with this forum software. Maybe it could even lead to a specialist Ham product - I can think of a few features that would be useful.

RE the pirate logo... I just got the following email from one of my referrals :-

Dunno if you know, but why is there some kind of pirate logo on PN webmail?

https://webmail.plus.net/src/login.php

Making me think I shouldn't log in based on past performance....

Might be worth thinking about... what with hacks and defacements etc...  It will be something unusual presented to the average user.
Gotta say, I dont think most people will know what TLAPD actually is, or care much about it, so I understand his concerns when seeing skull and cross-bones on the PlusNet logo!

Don't panic - It would be a big decision that would encompass everyone, especially the mods!
