DSL connection drops once per day

I've been experiencing a weird issue where our broadband drops at some point in the night, generally between 2am and 6am.

The issue seemed to start after replacing my old TP Link router (it kept rebooting itself every couple of days) with an expensive Draytek. The Draytek was unable to maintain a connection for more than a few hours and rebooted itself every 5 hours or so. It was concluded that router was faulty so it got returned. I returned to using the previous router for a couple of weeks and, after moving it to a different position, it seemed to stop rebooting itself quite so frequently but the DSL connection started dropping daily.

I have since replaced it again with an Asus DSL-AX82U which has been running for the last 15 days, but the connection still drops once per day as it did before. It only happens once and the connection is solid the rest of the time. It seemed to start happening after the faulty Draytek was replaced. I've attached the router log from the DSL-AX82U from the last drop this morning. What could be the cause of these issues?

Re: DSL connection drops once per day

Hi, welcome to the forum.

Disconnects in the early hours of the day could be the DLM resetting your DSL connection to make it more stable, but they should not be daily.

Sometime the DSL link stays up but you can get PPP link down which could be attributed to maintenance work.

The log shows the sync speed it does not show the signal noise details which would be helpful

If you are having regular DSL drops the suggestion would be raise a fault using the text service, details found here

If that does not work try using https://faults.plus.net
