Re: DSL Sync for 4 minutes then drops

They tend to work round the clock, but whether we can book them is another matter, and then there is availability. I'll check if it's still needed anyway.

Re: DSL Sync for 4 minutes then drops

Tony,
Unfortunately this has made no difference.
A reboot of the router made it sync and get a PPP session however 3 minutes 50 seconds ticked over and it just dropped sync again.
Earliest I am available for visit is Sunday, tomorrow & Saturday I'm working away.

Re: DSL Sync for 4 minutes then drops

Out of coincidence tried the other router and seem to have service. Don't think this means that it's the router though as I only tried the other one for like 2/3 sessions.
With a lift and shift I assume the DLM process takes place again?
I say this because last night I had a session that lasted around an hour, then two 30 minute-ish sessions.
Then after that it was up all night as far as I know that session was at least 2/3 hours.
Ping response was around the same as before and the speeds were largely the same also, 6 down 1 up.

Looking at this, I'm not sure an engineer is required ...

A lift and shift moves you to a different port at the exchange. This shouldn't cause DLM any problems.

Re: DSL Sync for 4 minutes then drops

Tony, think you are right.
Could we keep it open for the time being just to monitor the connection for the next week or so.
Those disconnections last night have made me a little cautious over it.

Re: DSL Sync for 4 minutes then drops

I've passed the ticket back to you for monitoring. This saves anyone from our faults team picking it up and trying to action something differently to the way I was going. The ticket itself remains open for 14 days before it times out if nobody has commented on it. If the problems does re-occur, just bump this post and let us know. One of us will then pick this up.

Re: DSL Sync for 4 minutes then drops

Tony,
I'm seeing random disconnections during the day, not to the point where it's unusable but it's still a bit of an annoyance none the less.
I think turning interleaving on for the time being might be worthwhile.
I'll respond to the ticket.

Re: DSL Sync for 4 minutes then drops

Thanks for getting back to me. Interleaving should be on in the early hours of the morning.

Re: DSL Sync for 4 minutes then drops

Tony,
Could you have interleaving turned off please, was seeing really bad issues with latency last night,  made online gaming and voice chat impossible.
