DSL Rate 3424k, IP Profile 2500k?

Hi,
I've run the BT speedtester and got the following results:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1647 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :3424 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 2500 Kbps
Can my IP Profile be any higher since its nearly 1Mbps less than the DSL rate?
Thanks,

The sync speed of 3424kbps just scrapes into the range for an IP Profile of 3000kbps. However BT's DLM will require that speed to be sustained for 3-5 days before increasing your IP Profile and passing a delta report onto Plusnet. Plusnet's systems then change Current line speed in the Member Centre to match.

Ah great, thanks for the info, is that a totally automated process?

Yes, the processes are fully automated. Just make sure you don't restart the router at a time when sync speed is likely to drop below 3424kbps.

great, modem is still connected at that speed and generally the only time it re-connects is if I manually switch it off (had many weeks uptime previously). I love this Draytek (Vigor 2500) its the most reliable ADSL modem I've come across and I went through lots (Netgear, Linksys, D-Link, returning them to the shops after rubbish reliability) before finally finding this gem!
