DNS servers down?

I've just had to restart my modem and router to do a speed test and am getting no internet connection now.
Connectivity check on the router shows failure to connect to DNS servers 1 & 2:
Server 1: 212.159.6.10
Server 2: 212.159.6.9
Are they down?

Re: DNS servers down?

I don't know but I had a phone call from one of my referrals earlier this evening advising that he couldn't access Google.
A few checks didn't show anything obvious - the router lights were all green, Windows didn't report a problem but he couldn't access any sites
Computer reboot didn't fix it but a router reboot did

Re: DNS servers down?

Back up now, but it did seem to need at least 4 router reboots. Hmmm...

Re: DNS servers down?

The users online graph looks a bit odd, small notches in the graphs just seem to be a frequent problem with the graph data collection, but it's not usually more gap than graph like it is for pcl-bng02.

I had a slight glitch yesterday where my internet lost speed and web access for a short while http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,130397.0.html ; It did seem to match a drop in the graph. But people just keep calling them graph glitches  Roll_eyes

There was an issue last night with one endpoint that would have caused the funky graph issues. There was also the likelihood it would have caused data transfer issues for some customers.
