D-Link Password

I'm using a D-Link DSL 2640B router.  A friend brought his laptop over this morning and we tried to connect it but we were asked for a password/passcode which I think said would be 8 digits.  Where is this obtained?

I assume the username is:  username@dslplus.net
The password is showing under neath but was this given to me by PN or selected by me and how can I check what it is?  Guess I might have to select a new password if it will let me.

Is It not username@plusdsl.net?

Yes, this is what I got with the router.  I think I may have noted the details down so after dinner I'll start looking.  Thanks for your help.
