Quote from: ReedRichards
44 is the international dialling code for the UK (following whatever code is required for an international call e.g. 011- 44- from North America).  If you see a number quoted at +44 just substitute a 0 for +44 if you are in the UK.

I know that +44 is the international dialling code for the UK, but it's also the dialling code for the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands. It might have changed, but Twitter's +44 number used to be based in the Isle of Man.

As OldJim pointed out, it's best to use +44 all the time.

Re: Current outage

03:30 this morning !!
Received Tweet on my phone ...
@Plusnet is following you
Really appreciate the early alarm !
Luckily, I was awake and surfing the web.

I've now setup notification time slots ....

But I am often, as now, on the web overnight times, guess I'll just have email & RSS status updates overnight, plus if I login to my twitter account.
I've actually setup @PlusnetStatus Twitter on a third mobile, GiffGaff (O2), no time restrictions, for overnight outages if there are any,  I can switch it on and check.

Re: Current outage

You could also turn off notifications that people are following you or turn your phone onto silent over night.
