Re: Current line speed not set (broadband slower than expected)?

If the MTU is 1500 by default on the router then the OP should be able to change the MTU on his PC without worrying.
Provided the router's MTU is equal to or greater than the value on the PC all should be well.  (An MTU of 1500 will let all packets of a lower MTU pass without being fragmented.)

The attachment shows the relevant section from Help.

Heh - I have that Help page too! I didn't think to try the Help in the router, just checked the manual.

When set to Automatic, which is the default setting

Hmmm... perhaps I set it without realising when I was sniffing around the various menus, although I'm usually VERY careful *slaps forehead*.

With this setting (Automatic) there was no significant difference in my speedtest results from thinkbroadband using the default port 8095 and using port 80.

I agree, and I've set mine back to Automatic.

If it's PN branded I think it'll have a PN logo somewhere on the config pages.

No branding anywhere on mine.

Re: Current line speed not set (broadband slower than expected)?

As shown in the attachment the Plusnet logo appears top right on branded firmware, and also as the favicon on the IE7 tab.
Note that the software variant shown in the image applies to test firmware; what is shown for the distributed product might well be different.
