Curious loss of PPP

Not really an issue but I'm curious as to why I completely lost PPP connectivity last night (this morning in the early hours)

VDSL sync was not lost and I can't find anything regarding maintenance or outages at my exchange (EMWESTO), modem/router has not restarted.
Router log has:
Quote
20.06.13 02:58:46 Internet connection established successfully. IP address: xx.xxx.xxx.xx, DNS server: 212.159.6.9 and 212.159.6.10, Gateway: 195.166.128.190, Broadband PoP: bras-red1.mqd-B222406070xxxx
20.06.13 02:58:23 PPPoE error: Timeout.
....
....
20.06.13 02:11:15 PPPoE error: Timeout.
20.06.13 02:11:02 PPPoE error: Timeout.
20.06.13 02:10:48 Timeout during PPP negotiation.
20.06.13 02:10:48 Internet connection cleared.
20.06.13 02:10:48 IPv6 Internet connection was cleared; prefix no longer valid.

The earlier drop (just after midnight) was only a few seconds so maybe unrelated/unimportant.
Any ideas?
Am I just not looking in the right place to find local exchange issues?

Re: Curious loss of PPP

Were you connected to PTN-AG02 prior to the drop? If so the same thing happened to me, most likely due to this:

Re: Curious loss of PPP

Hi Matt,
previous connection just after midnight gives the gateway as 195.166.128.184 (is that pcl-ag03?)
I couldn't see any similar drops on the other ping graphs, that's why I thought it might be more local (exchange?) but the fact that sync didn't drop suggests it wouldn't be the cabinet.
[Edit]
Just checked back in the router log, the connection that dropped just after midnight was on 195.166.128.191, I think that's PTN-AG02 so the first, smaller, drop looks to be explained.
Still no ideas for the 47 minute drop though.

Likely to have been the regular overnight BTW maintenance. (3rd one down at time of posting, but there's a new one every week).

Thanks Jaggies, that looks a likely explanation.
