Could the Plusnet Line Speed Be Put Up?

Hello,
The IP profile updated to 5.5Mb last night, is it possible for the Plusnet line speed to be changed to match this?
Thank you.

Hi,
Just checked and your BT IP profile is currently 350k so not sure what's going on there!

Re: Could the Plusnet Line Speed Be Put Up?

I don't think so:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1.33 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600 Kbps-7.15 Mbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :6.37 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 5.5 Mbps

Strange, running a line test was definitely showing a 350k profile. I've upped it on our side to match the speedtest one now.

Re: Could the Plusnet Line Speed Be Put Up?

Chris/Jojo, Is this a case of which BT check you do? There certainly was a situation where the Line Test gave one figure and something else gave another - can't remember what that was - remind me. Also the Speedtester profile wasn't necessarily consistent with (which?) one of them. A lower BT Speedtester profile than the others also seemed to limit the throughput speed.
Also, have the PN scripts that update the PN Current Line speed been running as normal the last few days? I've encountered a couple of anomalies - (all OK now). Is it possible that the inconsistencies are related to the work that took place on the Speedtester update?

Re: Could the Plusnet Line Speed Be Put Up?

We occasionally see that the BT Speedtester shows a different profile to the one that we see at our end.  The profile is applied across 2 different systems, so we see this sort of anomaly when there is a profile mismatch.

Thanks for the reply James, can you remind me which systems? Also which should update what in the typical course of events. My experience has been (of late), the BT speedtester profile gets updated last!

Re: Could the Plusnet Line Speed Be Put Up?

Hello again,
The BT IP profile has now increased to 6.5Mb, could this be changed on Plusnet's side?
Here is a BT speed test:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 5.04 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600 Kbps-7.15 Mbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :7.52 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 6.5 Mbps

Re: Could the Plusnet Line Speed Be Put Up?

Joanne, I have to ask you: why is there a delay before the profile is updated at Plusnet's side?

Re: Could the Plusnet Line Speed Be Put Up?

Surely everyone who has visited this forum over the past few weeks now knows about the problems with the PN profile not reliably auto-updating?
(It's a problem which BT and PN are currently trying to resolve.)

Hi Router Fan,
I've upped your profile, and as for the reports not updating, I'd suggest grabbing a cuppa and having a read of this, which culminated in my response here.
