Could someone tell me

Does anyone have any idea what 'CIrcut ID pattern is not vaild' mean?

Re: Could someone tell me

Depends where that is quoted, and in what context, but as it stands - no.

If you gave us a bit more to go on, maybe one of us could, but we aren't mind readers.

Re: Could someone tell me

My ADSL connection has been dropping multiple times for about a week now, the router logs show LCP negotiation failures for around 10 mins then the connection seems stable for about 2-3 hours sometimes.

Circut ID is not vaild, is the internal message from plusnet

Re: Could someone tell me

Right - a bit more helpful. It sounds like the Plusnet system is picking up the wrong data from somewhere, or the BT system has 'fallen over'.

Wild stab in the dark, because it is not something I have heard before and is a bit outside my comfort zone, but can you/have you checked that your phone reports the correct number if you dial 17070 and listen?

Re: Could someone tell me

Just done it. It reports the correct number.

I done a silent line test and everything seems fine.

Re: Could someone tell me

That's a relief. The next question then is: do you have a mobile phone? If so, what Wi-Fi identity does it say it is connected to, and is that the same as the one on your router? Something like 'PlusnetNXNNXXX' where N is a number and X is a letter?

I'm using a wired connection.

Do you mean from the Plusnet router, or from a Plusnet fault ticket?

OK - so what does the sticker on the back of the router, or the pull-out card say?

Re: Could someone tell me

Are you asking for the SSID?

It's my own router.

Re: Could someone tell me

I was asking for the SSID yes, but if you are using your own router, that, plus using a wired connection kind of rules that out - I think.

@198kHz  - your thoughts?Huh

Out of my comfort zone too I'm afraid.

I'd hazard a guess that intermittently the Plusnet end of the PPP session is not receiving a circuit ID  in the correct format from the router.

If I'm interpreting this thread correctly, the OP has an open ticket for this problem, so presumably the fault is in hand and the question is asked out of general interest.
