Could someone please tell me what these figures mean in the real world.

Hi all,
Wondering if someone could tell me what these error numbers mean, I have just had my upload speed uncapped and have been having a few issues uploading things which I have put down to the line settling after being uncapped.  However I dont understand what these numbers mean but they seem a little high.
Uptime: 0 days, 3:13:31
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 447 / 13,682
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 33,820,358
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 119
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 1,226,725 / 94
Is this anything to worry about, can I do anything, or is it nothing.  Just wondering as I like to know things.
Cheers in advance,

Re: Could someone please tell me what these figures mean in the real world.

Taken in isolation the large numbers suggest the counters reset like that on the last restart; in which case they don't mean much.
To get a better idea two sets of values are needed at least an hour apart so the values can be compared.
If your upstream speed has been uncapped I'm surprised the upstream sync speed is only 447kbps, that is a typical capped value. Sight of the noise margin line would be needed to be more specific.
If you post the full page of router information from Uptime to HEC Errors it gives a more complete picture, which helps others make more informed comments.

Re: Could someone please tell me what these figures mean in the real world.

The huge number of upstream HEC Errors must be a spurious number since it doesn't change between the samples. The rates on downstream CRC and HEC Errors are trivial. The FEC Error rate is very high, circa 3 million an hour, but these are errors corrected through interleaving so don't really matter.
As far as upstream sync speeds are concerned I'd say these are still capped. So might be worth following that up with the CSC. Don't see anything in your stats which suggest you should avoid it. I assume you want to make use of higher upload speeds.

Re: Could someone please tell me what these figures mean in the real world.

Hi blinky,
If you would like your upstream uncapped just drop a post in here to let us know, or even better raise a ticket requesting it at http://contactus.plus.net
Hope that helps,
ETA: Upstream is showing as uncapped, apologies. Not sure what's going on there. Have you tried resyncing the connection around lunchtime (disconnect via router interface, then power down for 30 seconds then power back on) to see if that makes any difference?

Re: Could someone please tell me what these figures mean in the real world.

Hi Matt,
The uncap has been sorted now but I still have huge numbers of errors.  Is this anything to be concerned about?  I have notice problems loading some sites over the last couple of days which I have so far put down to the line settling after being uncapped.

Re: Could someone please tell me what these figures mean in the real world.

AFAIK the downstream FEC errors are those that have been fixed by Interleaving, so they're not really anything to worry about (especially given the uptime of over 24 hours).
Not sure about the site loading issues though, do you notice where it hangs (i.e. contacting site or awaiting response etc)?
