Re: Could someoen help me check my line please

Hi BorgWales,
Is that a wired or wireless result? Were there any other programs running when you ran the test? I've just ran some checks and your BT profile is 5000 so I'm not sure why you should see that result.

Hi BorgWales,
You can never be certain of a speed test when run wirelessly, there's lots of things that could cause that. If you try it wired and the speed is ok you may be getting interference on your wireless. You could try changing channels or use something like inSSIDer so you can see the best channel to use.

Re: Could someoen help me check my line please

We could do that. You'd have to call us and pay £4.99 P&P via card and then we'd send one. We'd only charge you the cost of the router (£40) if you were to leave within 12 months Smiley

Re: Could someoen help me check my line please

Sorry it was on VC MUX Smiley my bad

Mmm, see more 'financial' threats. Oh I do love the way they slip them in. You'd think after 2 years of low speed and poor service, up to this point, You'd say here have it to make up for the problems. .
Seeing as I'm on a monthly contract how does the 12 months thing work then ?
I've sen you advertise my connection for less than I'm paying but when I ask why I pay the top rate its always 'Thats the way it goes'  answers from Tech Support. It got to the point of no answers forthcoming I gave up phoning.  Can you look into that as well then first ? If that can't be sorted I am very tempted to go elsewhere for a combined deal.

Re: Could someoen help me check my line please

Hi BorgWales,
Firstly, the cost of your package is due to your exchange being classified as Market 1. This means that BT are the sole provider at that exchange. In Market 1 exchanges the wholesale cost of broadband is higher which is a cost we have to pass on. You can see an explanation of this in our guide to low cost areas.
As for the router, you can pay us the £40 up front or you could purchase one elsewhere. The fact that we only charge you for the router if you leave within 12 months is a win-win situation, as if you do stay you get a free router, if you leave you'll only pay what you would have paid in the first place.
