Cost of moving from PlusNet FTTC to BT FTTC

Recently moved on to the PN FTTC service (November 2011).
If I wanted to move over to BT (it has unlimited DL usage) FTTC, would I have to pay anything to PN for cutting the contract short?  Or would "staying in the family" negate any additional costs?

FTTC is an 18 month contract, so I believe you'd need to pay the remainder of that.

Re: Cost of moving from PlusNet FTTC to BT FTTC

Sad i feel your pain but its my own fault! I've been waiting for ages for a decent broadband(previously only having 1.5 mb) and now I've got fibre I've bought  apple tv ,netflix and love it to bits but  i keep looking at my bloody usage  all the time and its ruining the fun because i know that 120 gb a month usage just aint going to cut it! , but i wanted to stay with plusnet because of there excellent personal customer services but at only £5 cheaper than bt and having to tell the kids"no you can only watch two of them"i wish i had gone for unlimited.

Re: Cost of moving from PlusNet FTTC to BT FTTC

For those who don't need 'unlimited', PlusNet is probably the better option.
Obviously for some the 120Gb limit can be a problem, this might be addressed if the expected product refresh comes about at the end of the month.

Mmmmm... just thought I had read somewhere that if you went over to BT from Plusnet there were no penaltys.

Re: Cost of moving from PlusNet FTTC to BT FTTC

Thanks for the link.
That of course maybe true... however the thread you point to does not specifically refer to a customer wanting to move to BT from PlusNet.
Clarification from PN staff would be good.... I'm surprised no one has clarified from PN.  The cynic in me would suggest if moving to BT, perhaps there isn't a charge then!  Grin

Hi there,
I'm afraid moving to BT needs to be handled as a normal migration, so all the standard fees apply.
