Don't worry about submitting a ticket. I'll do the reset and place the interleaving orders on Friday.

Hi Chris,
So it's Friday, I'll be awaiting the re-sync!
Regards.

Re: Contract Help!

I'll be picking this up again shorty, the SNR reset I've just tried to place has failed again telling me that the type of reset I tried isn't available on your line. I'll need to have a look at what's going on.

Re: Contract Help!

OK, your line is currently showing as ADSL1 on 21CN, this means it's on the upto 8Mb product but on the newer platform. For some reason this is refusing to allow me to reset the line.
What I'm going to suggest is that I place a modify order to move you to ADSL2+ on 21CN, doing this will allow me to remove interleaving at the same time. I won't be able to make any changes to the SNR until this completes, but I can't do that at the moment anyway!
Let me know if this sounds ok to you and I'll get the order placed, they complete the next working day normally.

Re: Contract Help!

Chris,
Given the reported 58dB attenuation, would ADSL2+ be a stretch too far?  Would ADSL2 be more appropriate, as at 58dB this line will get nowhere near 8Mbps which could well be the reasoning for the ADSL(1) provision over CN21.  That was how / why my 21CN line was origionally configured; it now hums nicely on adsl2 @3dB

Re: Contract Help!

The only options we get when ordering as ADSL or ADSL2+. If ADSL2+ is too far then realistically the router should negotiate the connection to ADSL2.

Re: Contract Help!

Yes got for it, I'm assuming if it is an issue I can restrict it back to ADSL1 or 2 from my end (modem) So this should be completed by end of Monday, thats fine by me.

Re: Contract Help!

Chris,
Cheers for the information.  The other CP had lead me to understand that the modulation level on a line could be configured / ordered as ADSL2 or ADSL2+ - he declined my request for ADSL2+ on the basis that above 45dB the higher frequencies used by ADSL2+ would not be viable and attempting to do so would result in a degraded service compared to ADSL2.
May be I simply misunderstood what I think I heard. Will now erase the misconception.  Wink

This simply does not happen for certain lines - presumably at certain exchanges? Of course if it's provisioned as ADSL2+, then you can just set your modem/router to ADSL1, ADSL2 or ADSL2+ yourself.

OK great. thanks for the assistance, I will be in touch Monday, will the modem re-sync itself or will it require a reboot?

Re: Contract Help!

The orders generally complete in the early hours of the morning and you shouldn't need to reboot.
