Connectivity Problems

Over the last few months I have noticed my broadband connection going down on several occasions. Initially I used to do stuff like reboot my router (a Belkin), but it seems that I just have to wait about 10-15 minutes for it to sort itself out again irrespective of what I do. During that time it is constantly connecting and immediately disconnecting.
This happens probably once every couple of days, often in the early evening, but that might just be because that is mainly when I am using the internet, so wouldn't notice at other times.
What can I do to diagnose the fault? The phone line works correctly during this period. The only useful information I could glean from my router was the following firewall log during one of the disconnected periods...

Re: Connectivity Problems

No suggestions for a solution, I'm afraid, but just to say I experience similar problems of occasional loss of access to the internet and mail servers at free-online.  I connect through a wireless D-Link G604 modem, and this reports that both wireless access is OK and the DSL is connected.  A reboot solves the problem.  Problems mainly seem to occur late in the evening around midnight.  I don't usually have the patience to see if access returns without a reboot if I wait long enough.

Re: Connectivity Problems

Do you know in you are on the tiscali LLU.  I had this issue a long time ago, I also think there was a major issue with tiscali at this time as well. ANyhow it was all sorted when I was migrated back to BT product.  Sorry about not offering a solution, but maybe another avenue to follow?Huh

In my case this just says : You are currently connected to the "Telehouse East, Juniper 4" gateway. This gateway is sometimes known as pte-ag2.  Is this BT?

Re: Connectivity Problems

As above try all new filters in the phone points.
Try other routers too if possible.
Try plugging it into the BT master socket.
