Connection speed still in training ??

After finding out i can finally now get upto 20mb in my area I recently changed my plusnet package to Extra as well.
The speed i should get is estimated at 13mb and looking at my router its current downstream is 12157kbps but i am still getting my old speed of between 6-7 mb at the moment, so am i still currently in the "training period" or is there a problem stopping me getting the 13mb
any help much appreciated

Re: Connection speed still in training ??

i have just done the BT speedtest and got the following
Download speedachieved during the test was - 5841 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 4000-21000 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :12157 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 864 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 10725 Kbps
according to the High Speed Broadband section of the plusnet portal I get the following
Estimated line speed:
    8Mb (Accurate to within +/- 1Mbit) - Checked on 2011-09-07 16:38:59
Current line speed:
    7.15 Mb
but as you can see it is over a month old since the last check

Re: Connection speed still in training ??

The Plusnet Current line speed should automatically increase to 10Mbps when a delta report is received from BT. However if that hasn't happened by tomorrow the Plusnet Digital Care Team staff will probably set it manually for you.
The Estimated line speed value you posted will be for an ADSLmax service. You can ignore that value - it has no bearing on the actual speed you receive.
