Connection instability

I am getting very annoying situations where the connection will disappear randomly and will require a rooter (TD-W8980) reboot to recover.
The annoying thing is the line syncs perfectly reasonably, it's the PPP connection that is dropped - what would this be?
Example (there are hundreds of these in the log files) - I note the date is 1/1/70 (!)
45 1970-01-01 00:00:54 PPP Information ppp0 sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <mru 1480> <magic 0xc50dae7c>]
46 1970-01-01 00:00:51 PPP Information ppp0 sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <mru 1480> <magic 0xc50dae7c>]
47 1970-01-01 00:00:48 PPP Information ppp0 sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <mru 1480> <magic 0xc50dae7c>]
48 1970-01-01 00:00:45 PPP Information ppp0 sent [LCP ConfReq id=0x1 <mru 1480> <magic 0xc50dae7c>]
Line stats:
Upstream Downstream
Current Rate (Kbps) 800 5280
Max Rate (Kbps) 928 5280
SNR Margin (dB) 11 6.3
Line Attenuation (dB) 29.5 47.2
Errors (Pkts) 0 0

Re: Connection instability

Hi there,
It's looking from your logs like there's bursts of interference causing a lot of drops in a very short time, then a period of no sync. I'd say it'd be worth trying another router to see if that stops it happening, if it doesn't then raise it to us as a fault at http://faults.plus.net - I can see you ran through this but the ticket hasn't gone through so please do run through it again so we can get this sorted (if it's not being caused by the router).
EDIT: Apologies, I meant to post a graph of your connections - here it is.

Re: Connection instability

Hi
Funnily enough, I just bought a new router (the TP-LINK W8980) to replace the godawful DGN1000 I used to have which died on a daily basis so I doubt it is that?
I will raise a fault!

Re: Connection instability

Certainly hope it's not that, but unfortunately it could be - depends if the Netgear was seeing the same issues though.
Either way our faults team will get on it for you.
