Connection drops and slow speed

Over the last week my connection has started to drop quite a lot and I think the speed has been capped as a result. I was using the built-in microfilter in the master socket but I removed the faceplate last night and used a microfilter in the test socket. It seems a bit more stable at the moment.
My router is a Technicolour TG582n and the stats are

Re: Connection drops and slow speed

wow something very wrong there your stats is showing a down attenuation of 82 which would be to far to even provide broadband if that was a true result kitz gives a sync of 0 at that level so yeah I'm surprised your managing to get anything at all,
have you done a quiet line test ?
you do so  by plugging in a corded phone into the Test socket, dont use a filter and dont use a cordless phone either as they have filters built in,  dial 17070 and pick option 2 it should be 100% silent any hissing, crackles, pops, or any other noise other than the voice say quite line test and you have a line fault that your landline provider would have to fix.

Re: Connection drops and slow speed

In that case you need to report a noisy line to whoever it is you pay your line rental to, be it BT or Plusnet or AN Other company.
Once the line fault is resolved, hopefully your broadband will improve.
(ETA) Your line appears to have been banded because of the fault, so Plusnet will need to request a SNR reset once you have the fault fixed.

I can see that you've got a fault raised with us and Jonathan has taken personal ownership of this.
Jonathan should be back in touch shortly to answer your questions.
