Connection Problems Part 3......

For the last week my router has been resyncing on its own once a day, only since last week it has been doing this and i am now on  G.992.3 annex A (was .5)
Here are my router stats
Link Information

Uptime: 0 days, 3:16:20
DSL Type: G.992.3 annex A
Maximum Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 888 / 4,224
Bandwidth (Up/Down) [kbps/kbps]: 443 / 4,248
Data Transferred (Sent/Received) [MB/GB]: 84.56 / 1.10
Output Power (Up/Down) [dBm]: 12.5 / 19.5
Line Attenuation (Up/Down) [dB]: 28.5 / 47.0
SN Margin (Up/Down) [dB]: 22.0 / 9.0
Vendor ID (Local/Remote): TMMB / IFTN
Loss of Framing (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Signal (Local/Remote): 3 / 0
Loss of Power (Local/Remote): 0 / 0
Loss of Link (Remote): 0
Error Seconds (Local/Remote): 65,545 / 0
FEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 0
CRC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / 1,318
HEC Errors (Up/Down): 0 / NA
With the lower speed i have now compared, to the maximum bandwith of 6000 i have less errors on my line, its allmost like the higher the throughput the more fec crc and hec errors i get im talking millions of errors i get over a period of a week.
Sn margin has shot up too.
Wont let me do a fault check through the website says we are in the process of closing my last fault ( febuary 2011)
Nothing wrong my end as engineer has been out said nothing wrong with anything in the house, so its the exchange or yourselves.
As i said with the last faults i have had since december when all this started i dont want to leave plusnet been here since 07, but i might have to due to continuing problems.
Thanks
Lee

HI Y2J,
Test socket? From what I recall from last time you were using an extension to the bedroom.

Hi Lee,
Ok, I've done some checks... Your line's not banded and 9db SNR is about right for your attenuation. I don't doubt what the engineer says about the extension but it would have to be in the test socket, having changed filters for us to look at it further and raise it as a possible fault.

Re: Connection Problems Part 3......

Hi Lee,
You are on ADSL2+ your router will sometimes decide it will get a better connection on ADSL2 (G.992.3) so will use that. That is quite normal behaviour.

Re: Connection Problems Part 3......

Hi Y2J,
I can see there's a problem with raising a fault at the moment and this is a problem we are investigating which is happening on a few accounts. At the moment, looking at your line stats I would raise a fault. However, if  you are still using the extension we would need you to plug into the test socket and take it from there. Regardless of whether the engineer said the extension was ok we don't guarantee speeds on extensions. If you plug it into the test socket so I can run another check I'll be in a better position to advise you.
