Hi,
The g/f is looking a broadband connection for her student house, but they're only going to be there for 5/6 months.
Options are:
* Virgin 9 month student package
* Plus Net (or other no-contract broadband)
* Mobile broadband
I'm pretty clued in (relatively speaking) on this stuff and have been a customer of PN for several years and am trying to do a comparison for her, however I'm confused by the sheer number of different charges there are. Assuming she's not going to pay £45 for a router from PN, I've worked out it'll cost:
£75 connection fee (£50 phone and £25 BB)
£17.74 / month times 5 (phone and value BB)
Are there other charges?
Specifically I'd like to know:
1) Is there a disconnection fee for BB? (I think I joined before this was introduced but am fairly sure I remember hearing about it)
2) Is there a minimum term for the Home Phone that would run separate to the BB contract or can she terminate it after 5 months without penalty too?
