Connected to gateway but not dns server

Thanks for that - Enabling the telnet client through the graphical user interface - just part way down that page would be the way to go.

Yes, I had just done that. Now double checked to see if the Command Prompt says same as that page.  It does.  But still no connection speed or noise margin.

Have you closed RSL and restarted it? That might sort it?

Yes tried that. Then deleted everything and started from scratch - no joy.

Another thing, have you rebooted the computer since putting the TG582n back on? Try that first, then open a command prompt that has admin privileges and do the following
ipconfig /all    ......post the output of that.
then do these -
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
then ipconfig /all    again and post the new output (unless identical to the previous)
Then check that Telnet is still enabled.
Then at the Command Prompt type  telnet 192.168.1.254
If you get a response saying two sessions are already open, kill them.
Then check all the RSL settings and try RSL again.

IPV 4 address changed from ending 64 to 74 and IPV6 changed from febf to feb5. Cant see anything else different.

Aha, yes it needs to be an elevated command prompt, I assume that to mean with admin privileges, but I don't know Windows 10.
