Re: Configured Download Throughput Speed is 6500K

Your IP Profile for the current sync speed should rise to 13000kbps. Cool

Re: Configured Download Throughput Speed is 6500K

Interleaving was turned off yesterday and I'm now seeing an improved connection speed, very pleased with the result.
However I'm seeing an increased number of 'Uncorrected Blocks' on my router. This never used to leave zero and I've had 750 in the last 90mins, is this something I should be worried about?

Re: Configured Download Throughput Speed is 6500K

I just re-ran the BT speed tester and got the following results...
Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test:
-provides background information.
    Your DSL connection rate: 18810 kbps(DOWN-STREAM),  1071 kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP profile for your line is - 13000 kbps
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 1641 kbps

Re: Configured Download Throughput Speed is 6500K

Hi Englebert,
The number of uncorrected block has gone up, because there's no interleaving to correct them.
What results do you get from say, the thinkbroadband speed tester?
Our seems to be giving some fairly spurious results recently.

Btw - If you PM me your username, I'll check out your account to make sure that all the profiling is as it should be.

Re: Configured Download Throughput Speed is 6500K

My connection broke this morning and I've reconnected at a slower downstream speed (16767700).
Are fluctuations like this normal? I never experienced such problems before moving over to the 21CN.

Re: Configured Download Throughput Speed is 6500K

When I first started on the trial my line disconnected nearly every day for the first two weeks and the downstream sync speeds fluctuated quite a lot.  I've been on the trial now for three months and my line rarely disconnects now but my downstream sync speeds vary sufficiently for my IP Profile to be constantly changing.  Two days ago my IP Profile was 12,000 kbps, it is currently 11,000 kbps and two weeks ago it was 10,000 kbps.  This seems to be the norm for me at least.  ADSL2+ is more volatile than ADSL1, when I was on ADSL1 I never had any disconnects and my downstream sync speed was always 8096 kbps.

Re: Configured Download Throughput Speed is 6500K

Okay, I've been up and running for a few months now and on the whole I've had a happy experience.
However in the past few weeks I've noticed a marked drop in my connection speed.  Sad
I was experiencing speeds of 18Mbps (see Reply #16 on 03/03/2009, 09:34) but this has nearly halved and I'm now running at 10Mbps. Nothing has changed my end so something has happened at the exchange or beyond.
Has anyone else seen this sort of behaviour and is there anything I can do to return the link to what it was?Huh

Do you notice these sync changes or does the line become sluggish at times? ADSL2+ has a feature called Seamless Rate Adaption, SRA would stop those problems, but BT have not enabled it, preferring to homebrew their DLM software/logic!
