Re: Coincidence or Modem/Router issue

We don't really have a method of logging into the router to be honest.
I can see from our point of view the line has been very stable actually:

I'd advise keeping an eye on this over the weekend and raising a fault

Re: Coincidence or Modem/Router issue

@ Adam
That just confirms what i have found with the 3 dis-connections yesterday after 24 days with no issues (apart from it dropping my BT IP Profile again), the one at 3am is around the same time i was notified of the changeover of products and there has been no further issues reported from todays logs.
@ jelv & spraxyt
I have just added the details from the logs and UI if they are of any use in your investigation, the syslog msgbuf show does show a little more than the UI where as syslog msgbuf show hist=enabled goes back to the 29/12/12.
I assume running syslog msgbuf show hist=enabled overuns the command box and preventing it going back further and cutting out the technicolor logo and original command.
The firmware is confirmed as 8.C.M.0.DG as shown in one of the logs

Re: Coincidence or Modem/Router issue

If you are expecting a lot of output in the command window, on Windows you can increase the width and buffer depth of the window by running
mode con cols=100 lines=1000
(note: that will clear current contents)
The default on my Vista system is cols=80 lines=300.
You might need to make the window physically (slightly) shorter so you can see all of it. Scrolling up (and down) makes the buffer content visible. If you want to copy it all to a file, right click and choose Select All, then right click in the highlighted area to copy the content to the clipboard. Right click at the insertion point and select Paste to paste clipboard contents into the file.

Re: Coincidence or Modem/Router issue

If you have a command print window open right click the C:\ icon in the top left corner and select properties. Go to the layout tab.
The Screen Buffer values do the same as spraxyt's command (but don't clear the current contents).

Re: Coincidence or Modem/Router issue

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that option. Smiley
Interestingly if the window size is changed that way the new values become the defaults.

Re: Coincidence or Modem/Router issue

Thanks for the tips you guys.
I changed the number of lines in layout and with syslog msgbuf show hist=enabled it goes back to the 22/12/12 whereas it still only shows more or less what is in the UI log when using syslog msgbuf show so can't explain why the difference when you think it they should be the same results.
Incidently the connection has now been up for 50 hours so maybe it was just a blip or result of the changeover of products on thursday, now for trying to get my profile bumped back up again which was problamatic the last time as i was getting above the estimated speeds.
Many Thanks
Regards
Steve
