Changing package

Exceeded my limit this month (by .03GB!) incurring the £5 extra charge. Will probably upgrade from Value to Extra and have a couple of questions.
Will the upgrade take effect immediately or at the start of the next billing period, which is today in my case?
Can I switch back to Value in the future without any penalty?

Re: Changing package

Start of the next billing period and yes, you can move back without penalty.

Re: Changing package

Has the usage reset happened on your account yet? As today is your billing day I'm not sure if you might be too late for this month without manual intervention as account changes are queued up to happen on billing day.

Re: Changing package

Hi Jelv
Yes the reset has taken place so I've missed the boat for this month.  Seems a pity as I didn't know I'd gone over until this morning!
Is it possible to backdate the change Bob?  If not I'll hold off until later in the month.

Re: Changing package

Have you actually gone through and ordered the account change?
Even if they can't do the account change you should be able to ask them to refund all bar £5 of extra usage charges you incur this month (up to 60GB total).

Re: Changing package

No, not ordered the upgrade yet. I'll probably hold off for a while. 10GB is usually OK for me but as 30MB over has just cost me £5 I thought I'd consider swapping package and get 50GB extra for the same money.  It would be really good if Plusnet would allow a carry over of the 4.97GB I've paid for and can't use!

Re: Changing package

Set your extra spend to zero then all that happens when you exceed it is that you are restricted to 256kbps

Re: Changing package

Hi Hugh, I've applied £5 credit to your next bill for the usage you were charged for yesterday.

Re: Changing package

Thanks Bob, very much appreciated.  I'll probably switch to Extra before the end of the month
