Changed router - after getting usual speeds, now getting slow, stable speeds - stuck profile?

Good morning,

Yesterday afternoon I replaced my router - Asus N66U -> Asus AX5400

Still using the same modem - Draytek Vigor 130

Speeds were as I expected them to be, however overnight, speed has dropped significantly, from the expected 22 to 26Mbps to 10Mbps.

It's a very, very very consistent 10Mbps, no matter how many times I run speed tests, so I can only assume that my line profile has been changed

(I've had the issue before so the symptoms are very familiar to me)

Many thanks for any help Smiley

@losimagic Bumping, gentle or otherwise, is not permitted on these forums, and as most responses are from fellow Community members you have to wait until someone picks  up.

However, as I have a quiet moment...

Can you supply any data from the router which may help us to help you?

@jab1 my apologies, I didn't realise that, I should have done.

I've just taken a few screenshots of settings on the modem and router, along with a current speedtest result

hopefully they're useful

Thank you again

No problem, @losimagic , we all have our moments. 😉

I can't see anything 'off' in the ASUS shots, but they are not the most user-friendly kit, so we get what we get.

However, the BT speedtest is revealing - something is causing a really high ping result, and that - or some other factor - has caused your profile to plummet.

Can you post a screenshot of the result of https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL , obscuring your phone number, please?

Re: Changed router - after getting usual speeds, now getting slow, stable speeds - stuck profile?

@losimagic  Can you post the modem stats from the Vigor 130 showing connection speeds attenuation etc, it is the modem that receives the VDSL2 signals so changing the router should have no effect on your speeds. Something else must have happened to cause your speeds to drop.

Re: Changed router - after getting usual speeds, now getting slow, stable speeds - stuck profile?

Thank you @jab1 - Ive attached a screenshot

Interestingly, I remember now that about 2 years ago, I replaced the openreach modem with the draytek and had VERY similar issues I even posted about them on here! - https://community.plus.net/t5/Fibre-Broadband/Very-strange-slow-speed-issue/m-p/1782307

Back then, Plusnet said there was a fault on the line and sent engineers who couldn't find an issue - speaking to plusnet again, they eventually agreed it was a stuck profile due to the static IP address, which they removed.

We now DON'T have a static IP.

I have just got off the phone with plusnet about the new issue, and they said a fault developed on the line at around 9am this morning - REALLY STRANGE!
I mentioned the profile issue from before, a couple of times but they couldn't see it this time.

Even stranger is that we've now noticed that we can't make or receive voice calls, just like before!

What on earth is happening?! Last time it happened when I replaced the modem, this time, the router!!
Seems to be something very spooky going on with my line or the local cabinet!

Thanks, @RealAleMadrid I don't have much experience of this type of set-up, and never thought of that.

John you won't see much from the Asus router, and the OP has not shown the DSL status page.

@losimagic   Have a look on the Draytek page here to get to the DLS stats.

@losimagic  Sounds like a voice-circuit issue, but can you still post the data @RealAleMadrid  requested?

@losimagic  Your sync speeds are abysmal, you should be getting 40Mbs, you need to raise a line fault.
