I think you need to get this fixed as a voice fault, before considering anything else.

Re: Change in BB speed

And today we are maxing out at 2.6 - it's the worst yet.

I've passed the fault back to our faults team so they can investigate further.

Re: Change in BB speed

Had a message from support today and replied that I was getting max of 4.3 download. Ha ha ha! That didn't last long though. Tonight I'm maxing at 3.1. Someone somewhere is having a laugh. No consistency despite router being on all the time. I'm hoping that behind the scenes some really nice people are doing their best to resolve this ongoing problem.

Re: Change in BB speed

Do not confuse SYNCH speed with DATA speed, they are not the same measurement.

Sight of your router stats alongside a BT wholesale full speed test would be useful.

Re: Change in BB speed

re SYNCH v DATA speeds: I have no idea what may be measuring which!

Router data:

1 - Product name:     Plusnet Router
2 - Serial number:     N7150781B012723
3 - Firmware version:     7.275.2_F2704N_Plusnet
4 - Board version:     F@ST2704N
5 - Mode     ADSL
6 - Uptime:     0 days 15:32:08
7 - Data rate:     686/3520
8 - Maximum data rate:     944/5080
9 - Noise margin:     6.4/15.4
10 - Line attenuation:     27.0/45.5

BT wholesale test just now:

Download 3.01, Upload 0.58, Latency 55.00

Yesterday afternoon it was:

Download 4.32, Upload 0.56, Latency 60.50

Re: Change in BB speed

Well that lot points to a problem somewhere. The SNRM of 15+ indicates the line is being managed for stability at a slower synch speed. Suggest you follow the guidance in the speed issues topic (link below). Also check the phone line for noise. Also consider raising a fault report.

In the stats provided, note the synch speed is 3.52 whilst the data speed test is just 3.01 - such a difference is normal.

@crt can you please post a radius plot and error history for the line?

Re: Change in BB speed

A couple of days ago the router dropped the line - not me, i didn't switch it off - and since then I'm running at a magnificent 2.3M download speed. My cup runneth over. It's worse now than when I first had a grumble. Obviously I'm being punished for some misdemeanour that I whot not of.

Sorry to hear that your speeds have dropped again.

I've attached your connection graph below.
