Change Landline Rental from BT

I currently pay BT a monthly fee for my land line.
If I were to move that payment to a different supplier, is there any risk that the line quality will degrade?
I currently sync at 8128kbps with a IP Profile of 7.1Mbps - I'd hate to loose that speed just to save a few pounds in line rental charges.

Depends whether or not you'd be moving to an MPF LLU/Cable product. If you're not and are just wanting to switch ownership of the line/calls to somebody else then your line will remain plugged into the same DSLAM kit at the exchange and therefore your data rate should be identical.
If you moved to us then things would stay the same.
