Cessation charge when moving from broadband to fibre

Hi, I will be switching from plusnet broadband to fibre with another provider. My contract ends on 21/10. Can I cancel my phone service and broadband on said day and would there be any charges?

Thanks.

Re: Cessation charge when moving from broadband to fibre

You must not cancel unless you are moving the Virgin Cable

There may be a £30 cessation charge if you are moving to a LLU provider (Talktalk or Sky for example)

The system - if you aren't moving to Virgin Cable - is gaining supplier led so you should ask them to take over the line

Re: Cessation charge when moving from broadband to fibre

Hi, thanks for your reply. I am moving to hyperoptic fibre broadband and they are telling me that they are not taking over the line. As far as I understand I would need to cancel/stop the line through plusnet and will be charged £30 fee for the privilege even if outside of contract.

Is that correct?

Thanks, I already read this. Just wanted to confirm that I would be charged £30 no matter when I cancel my line.

Re: Cessation charge when moving from broadband to fibre

Hi there,

As this wouldn't be a transfer and would require the line to be cancelled, the £30 cessation fee would be applicable.
