Ive been using plus.net for a year now and i have been getting constant 7-8mbps internet.
However in the last 4-5 days all of sudden my internet seems to have been capped during non-free-usage times, I wouldnt even mind if it dropped by 1-2mbps (i would really) but it seems to have dropped to a staggering 0-2mbps. Did i miss something?
As of writing this post (10:42am) here is my testmy.net result

What does Current line speed say on the website here - 2500kbps? That value might have dropped due to a low sync speed event and should increase again automatically within a few hours now your BT IP Profile has recovered.

You could try gateway hopping - disconnect from Plusnet using your router's web interface, then connect again. Note that this is *not* a router restart so sync with the exchange should not be lost.

Hi zMastaa,
Those results are quite low. There a few a few common causes for such a thing. If you ran this test wirelessly this may have affected it. AV/firewall can also slow things down. Other programs/applications/updates/computers running at the same time. Have you tried a different router? If you are running it wired have you tried a different ethernet cable?

I get what you are saying, but my internet is 100% fine after 12:00am at night, i dont see how the change of equipment should be effecting this.
Either way yes i have tried a different modem, ethernet, computer/laptop, RJ-11 cable
tried this.

Now at 22:56 bt speed tester gives me these results

HI zMastaa,
normally, if we see drops in speed at certain times of day it would be peak times that suffer. I'd be interested to see what the faults team make of it.

This is what i've been getting now when i'm downloading via Usenet. The download will start at its usual speed 700-750kbps then it will quickly drop off to 120kbps again. It will randomly return to full speed for brief moments of time too.
Ive attached screnshots

What time of day did you do the Usenet downloads? Between 6 and 10 pm the speeds you're seeing are what I would expect on your package: http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/speed_guide/download_speeds.shtml
