Cannot ping other computers

I use the TG582n, I noticed that I cannot ping other computers on the network. I can however ping the router, is the router blocking the ping packets ? Can I change this ?

Out of interest, what do you need to ping other computers for?

Are you sure that there's not something on the other devices blocking your ping request?
I can ping all the machines on my network, which is using the 582 for DHCP and routing.

Possibly but I do not know what.
I am trying to get the machines to discover each other in a homegroup and access each other shares. So far I cannot get them to join the other homegroup ...
Anyone know what I should check for the reasons to not be able to ping each other.

Not a router problem, you need to enable sharing in windows networking or what ever O/S you are using.
I also have no problem in pinging other computers on my network using the TG582n.
