Can someone test a download for me please.

Using this link I am trying to download the SQL Express 2014 with Tools for x64 (Fifth option from bottom after Download is clicked)
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=42299
However, I simply cannot download using WaterFox and when downloaded using I.E. I'm getting 12Kbs per second that's going to take 12H+ to complete!  Angry
Am I the only one?

Yeah, tell me about it. Me thinks Billy's up to tricks here. But it will download using Internet Exploiter but for me at a snails pace. A speed check proves all is well with the connection and nothing else is using the bandwidth. So why it's crawling along I do not know.

Re: Can someone test a download for me please.

What's happening is that the page has some essential javascripts stored on a http:// site when the site itself is https://
This causes a silent warning in Chrome (indicated by the little shield next to the favourite star on the right of the address bar)
Fire/Waterfox may have a similar indicator.
Enabling these 'insecure' scripts enables the download.

Thanks Jim,
I got passed the popup blocker myself and I've just tried it again and I get this (see image).
I then called Head Office and asked them to do and they could did it <10 minutes! (Tiscali Fibre).
So what gives? Is this down to PlusNet?

I always get confused with speeds. How long did it say it would take to complete?

Indicating 2hr 21min on a BT business ADSL line here (about 13Mb/s line speed).

Re: Can someone test a download for me please.

Well Head Office moved their download to an FTP Server and I have just finished the download in 18 minutes!
ftp> 871827938 bytes received in 1.07e+03 seconds (817549 bytes/s)
This is weird, I'm no network guru so not really sure what's going on, but I do know that my original attempt should have completed in a comparable time.

Re: Can someone test a download for me please.

Estimated time to download file 53 minutes on a 10Mbps standard ADSL connection, although the estimate was going up rather than down as I watched it!

Re: Can someone test a download for me please.

Wonder if its same issue with akamai hosted files, http://uk.download.nvidia.com/Windows/350.12/350.12-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-international-w... varies between at 30kB/s too 70kB/s then stalls

Re: Can someone test a download for me please.

Not to sure what that issue is but clicking on your link I get a 270MB download and I flatten out at 24.6 KB/s when it doesn't stall that is.
