Can someone have a quick look?

Hi,
Yesterday my wife complained about no broadband and I found that the PPP connection had seemed to be dropping every 10 minutes or so. I rebooted the router and everything came back fine but I've been monitoring the uptime and while the DSL connection has been up since I rebooted, the PPP connection has dropped a few times (2 hours ago was the last time). I'm sure that last time I checked, prior to yesterday morning, I was connected for 10s of days between any drops.
I don't seem to be having any problems (other than yesterday morning but we fixed that quickly ourselves). My speed seems to be the same as usual (~220kBps) so we haven't had a slow sync and been penalised by BT. I just wonder if there's any reason we may be having more dropouts than usual.
I have bought a few of the Indie Bundles so have done a fair amount of downloading from Steam, but I am well within my allowance.
Can someone have a quick look to see if there is anything odd going on?

Re: Can someone have a quick look?

Hi there,
It does look like it's been intermittent recently, and I'm not sure that it's stopped from looking at the connection records:

I'd recommend running through the troubleshooter at http://faults.plus.net and if the tests there don't help you eliminate the fault it'll pass a ticket through to our faults team for you.

Re: Can someone have a quick look?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm trying the steps now but I don't have a spare micro filter to continue.
What does the big gap on Thursday morning mean? The bit before the numerous drops.

Re: Can someone have a quick look?

It looks like your router was powered off from around 1-8am on the Thursday.

Re: Can someone have a quick look?

Yeah, except it still had a DSL link according to the router on Thursday morning. Weird.  Crazy

Re: Can someone have a quick look?

The router might have been in sync with the exchange but with the session disconnected from Plusnet. The Plusnet graph shows connected session times, not sync with the exchange.

Re: Can someone have a quick look?

Hi jayed,
I'm afraid we don't have the fault ticket as the questions weren't completed, so there's nothing for our agents to look into at the moment. If you're still having problems please do run through the troubleshooter as above and we'll get onto it for you.

Re: Can someone have a quick look?

Hi, thanks for following up.
I am still waiting for a micro filter to be delivered to iron out that as a possible cause but Christmas deliveries seem to be in the way.
Anyway, I was about to log in to say that my PPP has been up for over 3 days without me doing anything so the problem seems intermittent, then as I logged into this page it went down. How weird is that?
Considering 3 days up, do you think I should still replace the microfilter or not?
Matt

... this is the first time Customer Service has chased me up for being slow rather than the other way round Smiley A sign of good things I guess.

Re: Can someone have a quick look?

Hi jayed,
The drop you saw a couple of minutes ago was just a profile change on our side, so not something to be concerned about. Like you said, the line's been up over 3 days now and looking stable.
