Can only upload files + login to Slack in incognito mode

Morning!

Something weird has happened with PlusNet for me in the last 24 hours.

First, I was unable to login to Slack across all browsers. Cleared cache, history, cookies etc, still nothing. Went incognito and it worked.

Then I noticed I couldn't upload files - photos to Facebook, files into Google Drive and such like. Again, going incognito worked for Drive (not checked FB).

ITV player stopped working - clearing cache etc fixed that one.

I can't believe it's all these different sites going wrong at the same time as there is nothing online about them having issues.

So I think it must be something PlusNet.

I have rebooted the router to no effect.

Any help out there?

Best guess is that your IP address has changed and some of these services no longer think you are in the UK (or at least locate you elsewhere in the UK).

The whole location "thing" is a bit hit and miss, I'm currently located in Coton (according to whatismyipaddress.com). I'm sure its very nice there but I've never been. Previously a typical location was Bromley and I'm fairly sure I've been through Bromley once in my life.

The best bargain with Plusnet is the one off £5 for a static IP address. It won't prevent this kind of thing but will probably reduce it (you can order this through your account "portal").

If you don't have a static IP address give that a go.
