Can only connect to +net's website: DNS problem?

Hi,
weird issue I am having trouble with.
Router connects fine to plusnet, however once connected I can only access plusnet's own websites - nothing outside of them. However, this will only happen when I tell my router to get its DNS settings from plusnet. This results in the following DNS servers being used by the router:
212.159.6.9
212.159.6.10
If I try to enter alternative DNS settings, either into Windows or the router settings itself,  then nothing will resolve - I have tried the google DNS, OpenDNS, Plusnet's own recommended DNS (212.159.13.49 / 212.159.13.49)
Does anyone have any suggestions or insight? The router is a Netgear DGND3700v2 with firmware V1.1.00.15_1.00.15
I have not yet phoned plusnet as I want to skip the usual "did you try rebooting your router" (yes, a bunch of times) "computer" (yup) scripts.
thank~
EDIT: welp okay the problem seems to have decided to resolve itself now for no reason? Apparently posting on a forum asking for help was the solution, who knew Wink
Earlier today though it would literally only access Plusnet's own websites, despite all attempts to the contrary.
technology, huh

There have been intermittent DNS issues from time to time.  May be your hit such a glitch.

Hi mizkyu,
Are you still seeing issues with this when using our DNS servers?

Hi,
Haven't seen any problems since Saturday - the connection seems to have been fine once everything resolved itself. It seemed particularly odd that the +net websites (including webmail etc) were working fine, but nothing else - but ho hum.

Sounds like what happens when two people have been assigned the same IP.

I know it shouldn't happen, but how does that happen Bob?

Re: Can only connect to +net's website: DNS problem?

Very infrequently, most common occurrence is where routers have been shared amongst Plusnet customers
Edit: Sorry, read that as how /often/ does it happen. It can happen occasionally with dynamic IP's if there's a problem with the traffic management platform. I've only seen it a handful of times.
