Can not ping gateway/connection dropping

I know there's a few threads relating to this but none seem to fix my issue.

I'm using a TP link w9970, for some reason when i connect my laptop the broadband connection seems to go down, i'm presuming its to do with the router settings and not being able to ping the gateway.

i'm getting those errors in my system logs.

I have installed the latest firmware.

I live in a new build house and my micro filter is plugged into the only phone socket, unfortunately i don't have a phone to test the line with. can it be done from Plusnets end?Huh

Does this happen with any other devices?

Is this every time you connect the laptop?
