Can i replace my technicolour wireless router with a TP link tl-wa901nd?

Hiya
I have a tl-wa901nd wireless access point sitting around the house and its becoming apparent to me after hearing back from plusnets engineers that a lot of my speed is being lost through the poor technicolor modem we have been provided.
so my question is is it possible to replace the technicolor router with my access point as i know from experience that this has excellent wireless range and speed.
If so if there a guide i can follow to set it up?
Thanks a lot in advance

It won't work as it is an access point only
However you could link it to the Technicolor using the ethernet port and use it for wireless access

If you do do that (and it sounds like it might be worth it) best to turn off the wireless network in the router as there'll be no need for it.
