Unless I have missed something you haven't said what router you have.

follow the instructions from here to use DMT to monitor what is happening http://www.kitz.co.uk/routers/voyager2100_DMT.htm

Re: Can i change my line from G.lite to ADSL2?

Hi headhunterhbn,
Could you try using the DMT Tool to force your noise margin to something lower such as 9dB to see if you have an improved connection speed whilst maintaining stability?  Also, have you noticed your connection dropping out a bit recently (best to answer that question first before using DMT!)?

James are you able to see when he has had low sync events recently?

James,
I think you missed the post on the previous page where there had clearly been a dropout.
Can you check the logs and advise the resent resynch times and speeds.

Re: Can i change my line from G.lite to ADSL2?

Rather you than me Jim!  It's rather chilly here this morning and Mark likes to set the air conditioning unit to -4C and cold air blasts (don't tell him that I just turned it off though!).
headhunterhbn - You had various low speed resync events on Saturday and Sunday which are the reason for your speed problems.  So basically, your problem isn't actually a speed one, but more one of a disconnecting nature which is subsequently causing your speeds to fall.  The best thing to do in these cases (I appreciate that you have done a few of these already):
- Change filters
- Make sure that you are connected to your master/test socket directly via a filter
- Ensure that all of your used telephone sockets are filter
- Use/Borrow a different ADSL modem or router if possible to see if the disconnections still occur
Once you've tried all of the above, we can identify whether or not this is a line problem and raise to BT if this is the case.

Re: Can i change my line from G.lite to ADSL2?

Oh, i was rebooting the router. There shouldn't be any connection drops on Saturday, i was away for that day, the internet was left running to see if the connection improved, also, how do i use the DMT tool, and how do i force the noise down?

Re: Can i change my line from G.lite to ADSL2?

Unfortunately not, there were about 20 odd connections on Saturday.
I reckon you need to follow my suggestions above and then raise a fault if it continues.
