Can anyone help.. update or check firmware

I have been asked by plusnet to check the firmware /drivers are most recent on my router.  I don't know how to do this and can't find info on how to do it.  if i don't do it then i may be charged £140 by BT if they come in to try and find why my speed is abysmal, and I haven't. Any help please before i go mad.

It would help if you told us -
  1) The router manufacturer
  2) The full model name/number
  3) The hardware version (often shown on the model number label)

Thanks, is a thomson 585v7,  Have found the software version 8.2.6.5. believe this is the latest one. so no need to update ( I think).

Yes, that is the latest version. If you should need to know how to do it we have a library article here which gives a  step by step guide.

As I have the latest software , I am not going to reload them.....looks awfully complicated and i will probably mess it up.

I think you will be ok staying with that.
I am at home, I just know that some of you guys aren't able to do much in the day so I always like to pop on in the evening (unless I'm actually having a life - which I do occasionally, or watching X Factor) just to tie any loose ends and hopefully get you guys sorted.

Where does one find a ST585's firmware details? I can only find software version.
OT how many knew that Thomson changed its name to Technicolor earlier this year?

The Board Name is possibly the closest thing to firmware version (that's different on TG585 v8s for example). However the System Information page gives all the relevant information.
