Re: Can I have a speed reset please

@steve_arnold Keep your ears (and eyes) on this. Your test calls could have temporarily cleared the noise, but without a proper investigation, we will not know if the problem has really been fixed.

Re: Can I have a speed reset please

Apologies for not posting a update sooner, I raised a ticket and the reply said they had changed some settings but nothing changed, for the last 10 days I hadn't checked as busy looking after my nan.

To my surprise just checked the router and with a uptime or 36hrs it's reporting this - unsure when I reset the stats.

Re: Can I have a speed reset please

That looks much better, @steve_arnold , apart from the D/S SNR, but as mine has been running for over 60 days with a similar value, you may be on the way to a resolution. I'd just keep my eyes on it, and don't reset the stats - that can lead us up the wrong path.

Steve, that looks better. Why do you think they've gone strange? - the ones I an make sense of seem to have improved.

Re: Can I have a speed reset please

Looks strange to me as upstream HEC errors, bit errors, total ES, total SES and total UAS along with downstream total UAS have gone down - surely they accumulate until reset?

Re: Can I have a speed reset please

@steve_arnold Sorry, hadn't really looked at those as the main indicators had improved. To be honest, can't remember if you said which modem/router you were using, but the overload of data on there is a little OTT for a home user. Maybe the data is reset on a re-sync?

Re: Can I have a speed reset please

@steve_arnold  Upstream errors are reported by the DSLAM in the fibre cab so that has probably been reset or restarted recently so the error counts would restart from zero.

Re: Can I have a speed reset please

Hi again,

Only 1 further disconnect a week ago due to a power loss affecting our block of houses, the noise on the line has gone but this morning answered a call from a friend who lives about a mile away and immediately the connection dropped, it's remained connected for all other calls. As they call at the same time every week if the disconnects keep happening at the same time would that mean it could be a fault on their line.

One other thing is my attainable rate is showing as less than my actual rate since the power cut.

Re: Can I have a speed reset please

@steve_arnold Do you get many incoming/outgoing calls - seems strange that one caller alone can drop the connection. If the same thing happens again, run a Quiet Line Test as soon as possible and check for noise. It could be a fault on their line, but only they will know if it affects others they call. Can you try calling them, and see if the same thing happens?

Actual/attainable rates sometimes seem mismatched, I have seen it on my old router (but not the current one).

Couple of other points (1) Does your router report connection times - how long it has been connected for? (2) Your errors look a bit high, but without a time-frame, that's a little difficult to interpret.

Re: Can I have a speed reset please

Last resync was at 0901 today when we answered the phone, previous resync was at around 1115 last Thursday when the power cut out. Managed to telnet into the router does any of this make sense to anyone?

Re: Can I have a speed reset please

Not a great deal - to me.😉

But the times reported on there don't seem to tally - it says you've been up for 10 days, but you reported that it re-synced this morning. 😕

Summary page from router seems to show it didn't reboot with the power cut either although other electrical devices went off for around 10 seconds.
