I am on BBYW Option2.
In the mornings, I get download speeds from various sites, both in this country and abroad, of around 550-650KB/sec. Not fantastic, but not too bad.
However, in the afternoon and evening, the speeds from the same sites (and all others I try), are all between 28KB/sec and 31KB/sec.
I still have several GB left for this month, so that isn't the cause. Any way, this has been happening for many months.
Do other BBYW Option2 users get the same vast reduction in speeds afternoon and evening? I would be very interested to know if it is a general thing for us, or just something which is happening to me.
Many thanks for any information.
Keith

Hi Keith,
I'd be interested in hearing which sites you're referring to.
Thac for ddownload sites that are served by Akamai and Limelight Networks.
These limits can be found on this page:

If you got your B's correct?
550-650KB/sec = 4400-5200Kbps Which I would say is a good speed and not "Not fanastic, but not too bad"
28KB/sec = 224Kbps 31KB/sec = 248Kbps Which are the type of speeds you would see if the download are traffic managed.

@Jameseh
I'll try to do a series of tests tonight and let you have a list of sites and speeds.
@itsme I'll have more time to reply late tonight or in the morning.
Thanks both.

Jameseh.
Here is a selection of sites from which I have done test downloads this evening, together with their speed as indicated by Firefox . Downloading about 2 minutes from each site. The speeds fluctuate by a couple of kB, so I have given an approximate average.
heanet.ie (Ireland) 27kB/sec
pbone.net (Poland) 29kB/sec
klid.dk (Denmark) 31kB/sec
indiana.edu (USA) 29kB/sec
na.mirror.gar.it (Italy) 31.6kB/sec
mirror.fis.unb (Brazil) 16.7kB/sec
riken.go.jp (Japan) 18.5kB/sec
carroll.cac.psu.edu (GB) 25.5kB/sec
Hope this is of help.
As I have said, I have plenty of my allowance for this month left.
Cheers
Keith.
