Call waiting time - wrong

i just called up about a fault and received the message that waiting times were in excess of 10 minutes - I thought - so what it's free - I may as well hang on. Almost immediately I got another recorded message "phone fault or broadband fault", selected phone fault and almost immediately it was answered and responded to very effectively.
So instead of 10 minutes it took about 30 seconds.
Is something a bit adrift with the automatic delay monitoring system

It's actually a manual process on the phone system we have, from the sounds of it the message hadn't been removed from when the call queue was higher.
I've just tried dialling and didn't get a wait time message, it must have been removed.
