CHAP authentication failed?

Clearly this morning was the wrong moment to unplug my router for a moment. Now getting
Lcp comes up
Chap authentication failed
I assume this is related to the status page  mention of problems authenticating? Or do I need to find the old spare router from the cupboard?

Re: CHAP authentication failed?

Hi zxcvbnm,
It looks as though you're affected by the issue at the moment.
All we know at the moment, is that it's a BT issue that engineers are investigating as we speak. We're hoping for resolution by 1pm.
Apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Looks like it's not only Plusnet affected: http://status.aa.net.uk/apost.cgi?incident=1891 and http://status.aa.net.uk/apost.cgi?incident=1892

Re: CHAP authentication failed?

We've just had word that the issue should now be resolved. We're going to keep the Service Status up just in case.
Can you try to authenticate again and see if that's resolved the issue for you please?
