Have never had this problem before.
My internet connection continues as normal.
However, I am experiencing numerous wireless disconnections - probably 8-10 times per day, for minutes at a time.
Thinking I might be able to diagnose the problem from the router, I've tried connecting to the router.
Using 192.168.1.254
I've connected to the router before (but not recently) without any problem.
However, if I try to now, I get the message
'The connection was reset.
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.'
It doesn't matter if I try this via wireless, or via direct wired connection; I am still unable to connect to the router.
I'm assuming the IP address is correct (although I have tried others with no success).
I tried ipconfig at a cmd prompt and get:
...default gateway... : 192.168.1.254
Any ideas how I might connect to the router....?
The only thing I can think of that 'may' have played with network connections somehow is that I recently installed VMPlayer.
I don't recall having successfully connected to the router since installing the VMPlayer.
Cheers,
Don

I've had to power off the 582n and restart it once when it wouldn't let me into the interface.

Thanks. I'd tried that, before but it didn't make any difference.
But.......I thought I'd try again to make sure.
This time I left the router off for 5 minutes, before re-starting it.
And.....it worked 🙂
Perhaps 'something funny' was going on on the router, and that was causing the regular cut-outs too.
I'll monitor......

Glad it's (kind of) working.
Don't do it too often though as you might get DLM kicking in and a reduced speed.

Thanks for advice.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have fixed my problem after all 😞
The re-boot DOES now mean I can connect to the router to see what is going on.
However, the intermittent disconnections continue.....
Although now I can connect to the router and see that although wireless is still working, my internet connection has dropped.
This has happened today at least 3 or 4 times already.
Nothing (physical) has changed at home for many, many months.
Those these regular disconnections only appear to have started in the past week or so.
Is it worth contacting Plusnet Helpdesk? Is there anything they could do/check?
I have performed the usual checks - rebooting the router (as you know), swapping plugs, temporarily connecting to master socket etc...
Cheers,
Don

Hi Don
Have you tried plugging the router into the test socket, to eliminate any equipment failures
Also try another filter if you have one available
