So,
Browsing is very slow tonight, so slow in fact that it's slower than it used to be before I migrated to FTTC.
My IP profile is 38710.
BT Speedtester says I'm running at 32700 down, but every other speedtester I try (Thinkbroadband, speedtest.net etc etc) shows my download speed at 1.8Mbits. I have had up to 35Mbits previously.
Now I know I'm in the first 10 days and all that but surely it shouldn't be this slow, it's like being on dial-up again. I really want to be delighted by my new service, but it's difficult not to think if I've made the right decision
Anyone got a quick answer? I've logged a ticket with PN. Am I being too hasty?
Thanks in advance.
Gerry.

I have now.
Estimated line speed:
2.5Mb (This may vary between 1.5Mb and 5Mb) - Checked on 2012-01-14 23:31:44
Current line speed:
37 Mb
So does that mean that although the current line speed is 37Mb I can only expect between 1,5 and 5Mb? or am I reading it wrong?
Thanks
Gerry.

Nope - estimated line speed is non fibre
And that doesn't explain the problem
One possibility is a rogue delta report - there is another thread about that

Thanks for that Jim.
If that's the case then I will leave the ticket in place.
N.B. I know I shouldn't have but I have turned everything off and started afresh and the speeds are back up to what they should be for browsing in the evening.
My first 10 day training may have started again, but it was so painfull to watch it at that speed that I couldn't resist.
I'll leave it alone now, I promise.
Gerry.

It looks like you might have been assigned a default traffic management profile for some reason. However restarting the router and modem seems to have fixed that. Good move I think.
